History of Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen

The history of Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen, a member of RBA Banks, begins in 1817, when leading families of the city of Schaffhausen, Switzerland founded the bank to assist local merchants and traders. The idea at the time was to actively support and grow local business and trade in the region and provide employment for the less fortunate part of the population. Since its beginnings in 1817, this has always been part of Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen’s business philosophy: to grow within a free market environment, yet still remain aware that private enterprise also has certain social responsibilities towards its employees and the community at large.
